How it works

Submissions are tracked as issues on the public project repository at github.com/notepad-plus-plus-mac/notepad-plus-plus-macos. Filing them on GitHub means:

  • Everything is public. Other users can find and upvote your report before you file it, so duplicates stay rare.
  • You get notified automatically when the issue is triaged, commented on, or resolved.
  • The fix is traceable. Every closed issue links to the commit that addressed it, so you can see exactly what changed.

Do I need a GitHub account?

Yes — filing an issue requires a free GitHub account. Signing up takes about 30 seconds and only needs an email and a password.

Before submitting a bug

A quick sanity check saves everyone time:

  1. Make sure you're on the latest release. The bug may already be fixed.
  2. Search existing issues to see if someone has already reported the same thing. If so, add a comment with your specifics instead of opening a duplicate.
  3. Include: your Notepad++ version, macOS version, Mac model, and steps to reproduce. Screenshots or logs help a lot.
